In this sermon Pastor Joe explores these ideas:

  • Asking the question “What is Service?”

  • As a church we have said that one of the things that define us, that separates us from other churches in the community is that we have a desire to do service work.

  • Service is so important to the church in fact, the ELCA has a day dedicated to service.  God’s Work our Hands day.  It is using our hands to do the work of God in the world.

  • Being a church dedicated to do service work in our community and around the world does three things for our church.

  • It changes a community.

  • It changes the hearts of the people around us.

  • It changes us.

Doing something for someone else connects us with God and the people around us. Click To Tweet
